Going into the process was a bit scary at first just because you worry about how can someone else envision what you and your significant other have been planning for so long and in many cases what you’ve been thinking about your entire life. From the beautifully catered meal, spun ceramics to eat from, perfect locations and even more incredible photos to look at after our special day, I can’t think of any critique for her work, SHE’s A STAR!
Shanmari has this magical personality and a genuine desire to really get to know her couples before shooting with them. This was apparent throughout the entire process and especially the day off as she made small changes based on her observations throughout the shoot. I was worried that taking photos for a 7+ hour event would get tiring, but Shanmari has this incredible skill of really capturing photos in the moment so you barely even know she’s there at times. That was truly her greatest strength throughout the entire process, and I know is something that you won’t find in a lot of photographers. On top of that, she was extremely flexible and so creatively navigated around any of the small obstacles we encountered on our day.

12 Hour All Day Elopement
Intimate Breakfast & Details
About 1 to 2 hours worth of an experience, being able to take your time throughout the day really calls for more time with every 'section' of the day. For morning centric days I recommend 3 to 4 hours for these moments.
Getting Ready Together & Writing Vows
Also another 1 to 2 hours to get dressed, touch up your appearance, use the restroom and not rush those moments of writing your vows over to your vow books.
Waterfall Adventuring - Vows Ceremony & Portraits
Depending on the length of your hike this can vary tremendously. Rule of thumb for elopements is 1 mile = 1 hour plus the time spent at the final destination. We spent 4 hours here but with a very short hike. Don't forget driving time to and from locations - we also had to dig out the cars since it was a heavy snow storm which in return meant slower driving. Always be prepared!
Lake Side Portraits
Many couples love to visit more than one location throughout their day. The same hiking rule will apply, so there's a lot of planning logistics that will factor in here. The lake for these two were right outside the cabin, it was far below freezing temps with high winds so we spent just about 10 minutes here.
Candlelit Picnic, Portraits & First Dance in the Cabin
Always make sure to put aside enough time to enjoy your meal, no less than 2 hours is key here. We spent about 4 hours in these slow paced moments.
